WELCOME

Welcome to Belbroughton Club, where we aim to provide a safe, inclusive and friendly environment for our members and their guests to socialise.

The club is a not-for-profit friendly society, registered with the Financial Conduct Authority as Belbroughton Workmen's Club and overseen by a committee of volunteers and trustees.

The bar, kitchen and staff are managed by Dea Rees.

THE CLUB'S HISTORY

Belbroughton Club was founded when local scythe manufacturer Isaac Nash provided the club in 1886 for his workforce. It originally was, as one would expect, a working men’s club, but today it’s known as Belbroughton Club and membership is open to everyone over 18 years old.

Belbroughton History Society tells us ...

The building itself is Grade II listed and parts date back to 1610. During its life it has been used as a private house, a bank on one day a week, and in around 1702 is believed to have been used as a public house known as "The Mermaid". The name is thought to have originated from a ship whose timbers were salvaged for this building. At one time the village had at least 11 pubs and beer houses.

CHILDREN & DOGS ARE WELCOME

We aim to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all our members, so children and dogs are welcome!

However, for the safety of all our members, we respectfully ask that children remain seated with their parents whilst in the bar area, and are supervised whilst playing in the garden.

We ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times and owners clean up after them. There are poo bags and a waste bin in the garden for this purpose.

Children under the age of 18 MUST be in the presence of their accompanying adult member at all times.
